The many tasks that the volunteers perform as precinct officers are essential to the certification of the election.
Each election brings a new set of forms and procedures, but the basic function remains the same: to provide a witness to the accuracy and honesty of the election process. We are very proud of the Election Officers of Contra Costa County for doing their best in every way.
The rosters and indexes that are completed are critically important witnessed logs of those who have voted. The reconciliation at the end of the day is the written observation of the apparent numbers of ballots used and unused. Every piece of paper that is completed is testimony to the honesty of the process.
